Computer Generals Warranty Policy

Computer Generals Warranty Policy

The warranty is one of the most comprehensive in the industry. The Computer Generals warranty protects all our custom computer systems against defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date your computer ships. Extended warranty upgrades are available for purchase with complete computer systems to extend the duration of the parts warranty. Warranty service for all peripherals (monitors, speakers, external equipment) is provided by the manufacturer of the component. All claims for warranty service must be made during the term of the warranty.

Our warranty covers you better, when you need it most:

We have a 15 day limited money back guarantee (see below)

Shipping costs for all warranty services is covered by Computer Generals

Our customer service will never be outsourced!

Warranty Length

Your warranty and return policy begins on the day we ship your computer. After your warranty expires, it is important to note that many of your components will still carry a manufacturer warranty. The drives we install have a 5 year warranty, and Corsair memory is lifetime. Once your warranty expires with Computer Generals, you may still have a longer individual component warranty with the respective manufacturers.

Parts Warranty

By default, every Computer Generals computer includes one year of parts warranty. If a component fails or is found to be defective and is reported during this term, Computer Generals will repair or replace the defective part with new parts of equal or greater capability at our option. Two and three year extended warranty periods are available for purchase with any system. Please ask for a quote.

Shipping Warranty

Computer Generals offers outstanding warranty service. When it is determined by Computer Generals that a system needs to be returned for repair we cover the shipping both ways. The shipping method used will match the shipping method you used at the time of your original order. IE, if you order your computer with overnight shipping, we will cover overnight shipping to us and back for repair. We only use UPS for all return shipments.

Return for Repair

Desktop and server computer systems are generally repaired within 3-4 business days after we receive delivery. If any replacement parts needed are not in stock, that will add to the total time needed to complete the repair. We will advise you of the availability of parts at the time we elect to have the system shipped to us.

When it is determined by Computer Generals that it is necessary to have a system shipped back for repair, return shipping is covered by warranty. To enable us to cover return shipping costs, the customer can choose one of the methods below or request optional overnight service at additional charge:

1.We issue an electronic return label, which we email to you. Print out this label, and take your computer, packed and ready to ship, to any local UPS counter, and the computer will be shipped to us at no cost to you.

2.We issue a UPS pickup request. A UPS driver will arrive with a return label to pickup the computer, which should be packed and ready to ship. We have no control over time UPS will arrive, but they will make 3 attempts (1 per day) if you are not there.

If you prefer faster shipping and did not originally order your system with overnight shipping, there will be an additional service fee to cover this. Systems sent in for repair must include all cables, disks, and adapters. Note: Computer Generals will not review the contents of your internal disk drives beyond running anti-virus scans and adware/spyware scans. We must do these to protect our own network before we complete system testing following repair.

Any time you ship a computer to us, you MUST pack the computer properly. All systems must be shipped in original packaging materials or Computer Generals authorized packing, with the RMA number clearly written on the outside of the box. On return shipments, Computer Generals is not responsible for damage caused by improper packing. Computers should be double boxed, with at least two inches of packing material between the boxes. If you do not have the original packing materials, we will ship a complete, new set of materials for a very nominal charge. Please tell our customer service representative if you need packing materials. We will not be able to support our warranty on systems shipped in unauthorized packing.

Technical Support

Technical support is included with each computer system for the life of the computer. You must have your invoice number to obtain technical support. Technical issues are handled via email and phone. The primary (and fastest) method of communication is email. We are open M-F from 9am to 4pm. We are closed on the weekends and major holidays. Individual components purchased Computer Generals that were not included as part of our exclusive Upgrade Program do not include technical support. Tech support for operating systems is limited to aspects directly related to hardware functionality. Support for other operating system features and any and all application, utility, game, or other software must be obtained through other sources such as, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, other third party support groups, or other original manufacturers.

15 Day Guarantee

We have a 15 day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the system for ANY reason, we will give you a full refund on your system hardware. All returns must be undamaged and in as-new condition, in original packaging. Opened or activated software is not eligible for return.

Limitation of Liability

Computer Generals is not responsible for damages or costs that are the result of accidents, misuse, disaster, abuse of, or unauthorized modifications or changes to your computer. Modifications, repairs, configuration changes including but not limited to, over-clocking, BIOS changes, firmware updates, or installation or removal of feature cards, or any other changes to the hardware of your system must be made by or authorized by Computer Generals. If any of the aforementioned conditions occurs, without proper approval, it will void your warranty. Please contact a Computer Generals Customer Service representative to discuss changes and upgrades. Computer Generals' Upgrade Program is the best approach to improved performance without risking loss of the warranty. Computer Generals is not responsible for any losses or complications that arise as a result of a computer failure or a delay in production or repair of your system.
